2007 has arrived!! Troublesome Creek is happy to be kicking off our fourth year of music together as we continue to play in the Louisville and surrounding areas and promote our recent debut release, "From a Bottle" (see the merchandise page for information on purchasing a copy for your very own). In recent news, Emily has been on maternity leave since November and we expect her back some time in late Feb or early March, once she has her expected baby boy and has time to get settled back in. Meanwhile, we're happy to announce the arrival of our newest member and, we feel, a perfect fit for Troublesome Creek, Daniel Phelps on guitar. Daniel is a fine musician from a family full of them and has settled in with us better than we could have hoped for. We're having a great time and looking forward to making more great music together in the upcoming year!!
Also, we're happy to report a bluegrass festival is being put together for February 17th right here in Louisville by the same promoter that has brought us a number of other great musical events including the Peak Summit festivals of years' past. The lineup is still in the works, as is the schedule, and we're not sure about the location just yet, but Troublesome Creek will be in the lineup and it looks to be a great show and one any fan of roots music shouldn't miss!! We'll keep you posted as we know more about the event.
Also, John's got a couple other things on his plate including a number of shows with his old-time string band (see the schedule page for dates and times) and one additional special event that promises to be an exciting excursion into progressive acoustic music; John will be joining forces with Caleb Olin (of Whistlin' Rufus), our very own Daniel Phelps, and Ben Conley (of Kentucky Fried Pickin' and formerly Troublesome Creek) for a show at the Highlands Tap Room Sat, Feb 3rd. Look for the boys under such possible names as "Kentucky Fried Whistlin' Creek", "Troublesome Pickin' ", or possibly, "Whistlin' Kentucky Creek". It is sure to be a pleaser for any fan of our kind of music.
This summer be on the lookout for Troublesome Creek on the festival circuit in KY and the surrounding areas, as well as venues in the Louisville area. We're excited about everything that has been happening lately and about kicking off another great year of music with all our friends and family. We want to send an early congratulations out to Emily on her expected baby boy and we hope to see everyone soon!! And thanks as always for your continued support of live, local bluegrass music!!!
